The main conflicts in this book are drugs, jail, and what he is going to do with his life. the drugs he gets into like hash he starts selling and ends up getting busted by the F.B.I. so then he ends up in jail where he is scared of everyone around him and that he may get sneaked up on. but as he is in jail he ends up working for the hospital doing x rays and just jotes down in a journal until he is released from jail because he gets accepted into a college. after he is released and accepted he gets a job and a place to stay and starts going to writing school and thats what he is doing now writing books.

in my opinion the three main conflicts would have to be him growing up in a poor neighborhood, dealing drugs, and the struggle of jail. when growing up, Jack was in the ghetto raised by his father. when he had no other opitions he took these two guys up on an offer to smuggle some hash into NY. After selling all the hash the cops traced him down then he had to spend about 2 years in jail. when he was in jail he ended up getting accepted to a college for writing then he contiued his life writing.

the main conflicts in this story is that he has done alot of things that could put him in jail for a long time. Like when he was dealing hash to the dealers from other towns and the FBI was following him. Then when he was on the ship and transporting the hash on the ship and the cost gards were taking photos of them shiping it. When he is on the run and his dad knows what he has done becuse his face is on the front page of the news paper.

I would say some of the main conflicts would be Jack becoming a writer, his alcohol and drug abuse, and prison. He has always dreamed of being a writer, but can’t think of anything to write about. In high school he became an alcoholic. He got lucky and had an easy time in Federal prison.
